Snow fun for Jin
When I woke up this morning, I intended to temporarily replace my Koyo radiator in my FC with my old stock one, due to a small crack I now need to get repaired at the local radiator shop. I planned on taking a few pictures during the process but then.....

Snowy FC1

I didn't expected it to snow over night, and I have no intentions on working on this in the garage, so it looks like thats the end of that for now.

If you can't tell by that picture, winter is pretty much here, and that means its time for intense winter training in preparation for next years racing season. It also means that many drivers are scrambling to get a racing seat for next season in each series. That's also the case for Ramos and I . At the moment we would like to participate in Jim Russell's racing series, but doing an "Arrive and Drive" deal with a team in Formula TR maybe wouldn't be so bad. Needless to say, we're unsure, but we have a bit of time to figure out where we want to be in the start of next year's season.

And finally, the last bit of news (well not so much news...), is the search for new racing gear. Im currently undecided with what helmet and racing suit I want to purchase. I'm definitely not the wealthiest man on earth, but safety gear is no place to skimp.

In terms of helmets, Im undecided between the
Zamp FSA-1
and the
OMP SC728 (edit: actually, it'd be the SC727 which has the HANS device clips already installed from the factory,)
When it comes to racing suits, Im undecided between the Sparco Sprint 6 and the Sparco X Light HC in black......Jarno Trulli looks a bit goofy there. In anycase, I have some time to figure it out, which is good for me because none of those things are anywhere near cheap...

Jin's Intro
So I guess as the head of this team( I suppose), I'm obligated to post first. I should probably start by introducing myself. My name is Jin, I'm 21 years old, and I'm a racing driver with goals of reaching F1 within the next few years. I got involved with racing when I was 14 years old. I bought my first car (Mazda RX7 FC3S) before my 15th birthday. I learned all the basics of racing in this car, and within a few years (or maybe months), decided I wanted to pursue the highest level of motor sports, Formula 1. Obviously right now, the general racing season is over, so I'm mostly focused on running my company, and doing winter training at the moment. Next year, I plan to compete in F3, but I would prefer to move into the new Formula 2 by the middle of next year. Nothing is written in stone yet, so I guess I'll have to see how everything plays out. That's about it for me. In my next update, I'll post more about my stages of progression with racing, and maybe grab some pictures of my cars and explain a little about the modifications and things like that.
Introduction
This is the first post of our new blog for the "Super Tune" Team. Members of the team include Jin Reed, Alex Ramos, Robert Echter, and A`chaz Walker. All 4 are pursuing a racing career in various forms of Motor Sports.

The purpose of this blog is to allow people to see the progress of young racing drivers, however, some members may still treat this blog as a type of journal and log their day to day activities. The team was formed by Jin Reed 2 years ago, however, all members are involved in the "Super Tune Imports" company. In future posts, members will talk about how they became involved in the racing industry, and what their future goals are.
